Art Piece: Sea to Sky by Thomas Cannell
KELTIC is very honored to have unveiled Musqueam Artist, Thomas Cannell’s “Sea to Sky” mosaic art piece on Thursday, January 20th.
Cannell shared that the culture of his ancestors was part of his inspiration behind his masterpiece and gives onlookers a view into the world. The piece, which is now the focal point of the community, highlights the natural habitat of British Columbia’s coast and its wildlife.
“Sea to Sky” was blessed by Musqueam Elder, Kwes Kwestin, who honored the event with his presence.
In addition, Mayor Malcom Brodie and City of Richmond Council Members were also in attendance. He noted that it is through public art created by famous and well-known artists such as Cannell himself, is what brings a development, and its surroundings to life.
Owner Anna Wang, along with her daughter Diana Li, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to every team member who made the completion of the tower and art piece possible.
